Acura TL

Get PricesThe 2012 Acura TL gets revised front-end styling, a six-speed automatic transmission, improved fuel efficiency, an upgraded navigation system and a quieter freeway ride.

The base model offers the refined ride, big cabin and a full helping of the latest bells and whistles that will satisfy most. Driving enthusiasts will likely find the more powerful and sharper-handling TL SH-AWD more appealing. Blessed with an athletic chassis and all-wheel drive, this roomy sport sedan can hang with smaller rivals such as the Audi A4, BMW 3 Series, Infiniti G37 and Lexus IS 350 on a challenging, curvy road.

The standard TL comes with 17-inch wheels, automatic xenon headlamps, foglamps, a sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, heated eight-way power front seats (with driver lumbar adjustment and memory functions), leather upholstery and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity and an eight-speaker sound system with a six-CD changer, satellite radio, an auxiliary audio jack and an iPod/USB audio interface are also standard. The TL SH-AWD adds a more powerful engine, all-wheel drive, more aggressive suspension and steering tuning, upgraded brakes, 18-inch wheels, deep bolstered front seats and contrasting leather stitching.

The base model 2012 Acura TL is front-wheel drive and is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 that produces 280 horsepower and 254 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed automatic is standard. We expect a 0-60-mph time of about 6.5 seconds given that the TL's five-speed predecessor made the same dash in 6.7 seconds during Edmunds testing. EPA-estimated fuel economy is 20 mpg city/29 mpg highway and 23 mpg combined.

The TL SH-AWD model features Acura's Super-Handling All-Wheel-Drive system, which transfers different levels of power to individual wheels to maximize traction and grip through turns and during inclement weather. It also gets a 3.7-liter V6 good for 305 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed automatic is standard, while a six-speed manual is optional and includes hill start assist. A manual-equipped TL SH-AWD hits 60 mph in 5.7 seconds. EPA-estimated fuel economy is 18/26/21 with the automatic and 17/25/20 with the manual.

Acura MDX

The new 2013 Acura MDX is a luxury crossover SUV all set to impress adventurous drivers with its versatility and performance. Acura engineers have applied breakthrough technology to create all in one vehicle with handling of a performance, luxury car and the freedom and common sense of an SUV. The result – the luxurious, quick-handling, all-weather, all-new 2013 Acura MDX. Designed to be the best luxury 2013 SUV in its class, the 2013 Acura MDX exhibits a unique technology-based approach to building vehicles. The car’s primary mission is to achieve unheard-of levels of performance and handling. We predict a sudden rush to 2013 Acura MDX dealers once people discover all the MDX has to offer.

A beefed-up 260-horsepower, 3.5-liter, V-6 engine is the heart of the new 2013 Acxura MDX, and of itself, is a force to be reckoned with. This engine produces a class-leading 260 horsepower at high rpm while churning out impressive torque that peaks at 250 pounds per foot, so drivers can accelerate quickly to highway speeds with exhilarating responsiveness in an average Acura MDX road test or in the everyday.

Acura ZDX

The Acura ZDX is another car in a growing class of coupe/sedan/crossovers combining the sleek lines of a coupe with four full doors in a vehicle of unlikely size. The ZDX shares its platform, wheelbase, standard all-wheel drive and overall width with the MDX, Acura's largest model to date that accommodates seven in three rows of seats. The ZDX is a couple of inches longer than the MDX, its roof is a half-foot lower, and it seats five.

Acura describes the ZDX variably as a personal sports coupe, a four-door sports coupe and a crossover utility vehicle. The base ZDX comes well-equipped, and higher trim levels come in the form of option packages: the Technology Package and the Advance Package.

Standard features include heated, leather power front seats with driver's seat memory; a tilt/telescoping steering wheel; a leather-clad dashboard and steering wheel; and a six-CD stereo with satellite radio. The stereo inputs include an analog jack, a USB connector for controlling MP3 players and Bluetooth streaming audio. A backup camera, which displays its image on the rearview mirror, is standard equipment.

Acura TSX Sport Wagon

The 2011 TSX Sport Wagon's Four-cylinder engine produces 201hp at 7000 rpm and 170 lb-ft of torque at 4300 rpm. The i-VTEC variable valve-timing and lift system works well at distributing reasonable power throughout the engine's speed range.

The 2.4-liter inline Four offers 22 city, 31 highway and 26 combined. Acura's navigation system as supplied in the optional Technology package has been upgraded, with a high-resolution LED screen, a faster processing speed as a result of the hard-drive technology, and added features.

A hands-free Bluetooth link is controlled through the screen display. The standard audio equipment features seven speakers and 360 watts of output, with a single CD player and USB input, and it sounds great. The optional ELS system offers 10 speakers, 460 watts and linkage with up to six iPods.
